It seems like I’ve reached a point where there’s a lack of engagement in the activities available in the game. Although I truly enjoy playing Diablo and would like to continue, I’m finding it difficult to remain invested.
I’ve achieved my personal objective of reaching level 100 solo for the second time this season, but now I find myself without clear goals or accomplishments to strive for. The various tasks I could pursue don’t seem to hold my interest.
For instance, engaging in battles with Uber Lilith, studying her moves and lethal attacks, doesn’t provide me with enjoyment. Similarly, the prospect of pushing for a higher level in 100NMD by meticulously selecting the best dungeon attributes and proceeding cautiously doesn’t excite me. The overpowered crowd control effects in the game add to this lack of enjoyment.
Even the idea of farming for superior gear doesn’t hold much appeal. I’ve gone a week without finding any upgrades, and the issues with itemization make it unappealing to invest time comparing minor differences in attributes.
While experimenting with new character builds is a possibility, the process seems overly complex and tied to gear and imprints that restrict my options. The thought of trying out PvP crossed my mind, but it turned out to be underwhelming, lacking substantial rewards apart from gear gambling.
Leveling up a new character is also a consideration, but I’m currently feeling burnt out, and my stash is already filled to capacity.
I’d like to emphasize that this isn’t a complaint. I’ve dedicated over 200 hours to this season and have enjoyed the experience throughout. I’ve definitely received my money’s worth.
I’m curious to know if my sentiments are justified and if others share the same feelings. When I reflect on my extensive hours in Diablo 3, I recall effortlessly managing multiple characters per season and engaging in Rifts and Greater Rifts. The similarities between the two games are apparent, but there’s something about Diablo 4 that feels off. There seem to be underlying issues within the game that create a sense of burden, where they shouldn’t exist.
Alternatively, it’s possible that the shift from not playing AAA games for a while before Diablo 4 might be influencing my perception. Perhaps my expectations for Diablo 4 were overly ambitious.
