Path of Exile 2 Currency Making Guide: Mapping, Seas, and Trial Farming

Welcome to my next Path of Exile 2 Currency-making guide. Today, I want to walk you through some of the best ways to earn currency before the new season starts. I believe many of these strategies are still effective, though there may be a few tweaks along the way. If any major changes occur, I’ll be sure to post an updated guide. But for now, here are some of the methods I’ve been using and how much I’ve made from them. If you’ve already watched other currency-making videos, I might not have anything groundbreaking to offer. However, these are my favorites, and I’ll explain exactly why they work for me.

Let’s dive in!

Why Currency Farming is Important in Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2 is a game with an incredibly deep economy, and having a solid currency-making strategy is essential. Currency is what drives the economy, and your ability to accumulate wealth early in the season will give you the power to acquire endgame gear, improve your build, and acquire the most sought-after items, such as Divines, Exalts, and Mirrors. Whether you’re a new player just starting out or an experienced veteran looking to stay ahead, currency farming is a crucial part of the experience.

Throughout this guide, I’ll be discussing some tried and true methods for making currency in PoE 2 that don’t require you to rely solely on the grind of crafting or gambling. These methods will allow you to maximize your profits without resorting to the more tedious and repetitive methods like Herb Slamming.

1. Mapping – The Heart of Currency Farming

In Path of Exile, mapping remains one of the best ways to earn currency, and this applies to both the first and second installments of the game. Mapping allows you to engage in high-reward activities while enjoying the core gameplay of PoE—killing monsters and exploring the world.

The Importance of Choosing the Right Maps

The key to successful mapping is choosing the right maps and optimizing your setup. Here’s what I recommend focusing on when selecting maps for farming currency:

  • Quantity of Monsters: The more monsters you kill, the higher the chance of obtaining valuable drops.
  • Rarity of Monsters: Rarer monsters have a higher chance to drop valuable items, such as Exalted Orbs or Divines.
  • Special Mods (Breaches, Rituals): Focus on mods like Breaches and Rituals. These can increase the number of rare monsters in the map and improve your chances of finding valuable loot.
  • DPS and Cooldown Reduction: You want to make sure you have enough damage output (DPS) to handle the monsters and a cooldown reduction setup to clear maps efficiently.

By tweaking your Atlas passive tree and selecting the appropriate modifiers for your maps, you’ll ensure that you’re maximizing the value of every run.

Why Breaches and Rituals are Crucial

  • Breaches: These events spawn extra bosses and elite monsters that drop powerful loot. They’re an excellent way to farm rare items like Divine Orbs.
  • Rituals: Rituals are events that offer you more chances to earn loot by killing monsters within a confined area. By completing Rituals, you can increase your chances of encountering valuable items, including Divines.

2. Farming the Trial of Seas for Massive Profits

Another method I highly recommend is farming the Trial of Seas. While the Trial of Seas can be challenging, the rewards are more than worth it. You can expect to see a massive return on investment from the drops that come out of this event.

What to Expect from Trial of Seas Farming

After completing around 50 runs of the Trial of Seas, you can expect to earn anywhere between 2,200 to 2,700 Exalted Orbs in total from the drops. These numbers are based on converting all the valuable drops into Exalts, and on average, you’ll get around 15 to 20 Divines per trial, depending on the results.

Additionally, you can expect some magic relics from the Trial of Seas. These relics can be quite valuable, and while they may not always be worth your time to use directly, selling them can yield solid profits. Specifically, relic quantity relics can be quite expensive, so keep an eye out for those.

The Jackpot Item: Last Flame Relic

The Last Flame Relic is one of the most coveted items in the game, and it’s currently worth about 370 Divines (as of the time of writing). This relic is considered the jackpot item from the Trial of Seas, and it can make your entire farming session worth it, even if you don’t get much else.

3. Trial of Seas – Boss Farming for Rare Relics

In addition to relics, the Trial of Seas can also drop soul cores. Some of these soul cores can be very lucrative, and one of the most expensive soul cores on the market is the Aapa Soul Core, which is currently worth around 1,400 Exalted Orbs.

If you’re looking to make big money and want a challenge, boss farming for these soul cores is one way to go. However, it’s important to note that these drops are not guaranteed, and you may need to run the Trial of Seas several times before you get the right soul core.

4. Farming for Adorned Diamonds in Trial Master

The Trial Master is another boss that you can farm for lucrative rewards. Specifically, the Adorned Unique Diamond is one of the most valuable drops you can get from this encounter. This diamond is currently worth around 100 Divines when sold, but it is unidentified, meaning you’ll need to get it appraised before you can sell it for its full price.

The drop rate for the Adorned Diamond is not particularly high, and farming this item may take a significant amount of time and effort, but it can be incredibly profitable if you’re lucky enough to get one.

5. Mastering Trial Bosses for Fates

The Trial of Seas bosses drop different Fates, and collecting all three required Fates can yield a nice profit. Right now, a complete set of three Fates is worth around 530 Exalted Orbs. These Fates are needed to unlock certain aspects of the Trial of Seas and are essential for completing the most rewarding runs.

Farming these Fates can take some time, especially if you’re trying to get the best possible drops, but once you have them, you can either use them yourself or sell them to other players who are looking for them.

6. Other Tips for Currency Making

Here are a few more quick tips for making currency in Path of Exile 2:

  • Sell Uniques You Don’t Need: Don’t overlook the value of certain Unique items. Even lower-tier Uniques can sometimes be worth a good amount of currency if the market demands them.
  • Focus on High-Value Mods: Items with certain high-value mods, such as % increased rarity of items or % increased quantity of items, can be worth a lot. Don’t forget to check these when you’re farming.
  • Optimize Your Loot Filter: Use a loot filter that highlights valuable items. This will help you quickly spot drops that can be worth a lot of currency.

Conclusion
