How can you handle encountering a PC cheater on console? I forgot to disable cross-play while playing clubs, and when I joined a Champions qualifier, my PC opponent swiftly switched to AI. Enduring 90 minutes against a formidable team with challenging tactics and AI wasn’t pleasant, and predictably, I ended up losing. While I don’t anticipate EA addressing this issue, is there any in-game option on Xbox to sever the connection and invalidate the game? I recall there was a method for this on PC last year.
If you come across such opponents, scoring isn’t difficult if you understand how the AI reacts. Here are some straightforward tips:
- Exploit their slow response to fake shot stops by running down the line, executing a fake shot stop, and then making a pass or finesse shot (green-timing it for instant goals).
- Locate open space with a proficient passer, Player Lock to a striker, execute an over-the-top through ball. Change direction diagonally if the defender is tracking, move away from the side they’re tracking, and always aim to get down the line. For fake shot stop tactics, cross in, run in, finesse – whatever works. They take a considerable time to register your stop if you’re running at full speed. They’re not very intelligent.
- Emphasize finesse shots, especially with green timing. Create space with fake shot stops or a ball roll/step over with an exit toward the strong foot.
- Once you take the lead, focus on passing around the defense.
While I’m not exceptional at this game, with this seemingly “stupid fix,” it becomes a straightforward task. Additionally, try to direct their attacks down the line and use advanced defending (A press) to dispossess them.
Unfortunately, I’m on PC, and every year it’s the same story—encountering cheaters multiple times every day. Makes for a poor gaming experience, losing matches and losing FC 24 Coins rewards frustrates me. This year, we also get to experience it with console delay multiplied by three and what feels like 20fps. Good luck!
